When I first had the idea to start my own business, helping individuals and families create a healthy budget, I was full of self doubt and I was so afraid of what others would think of me. I am not a certified financial adviser. I am not a big name like Dave Ramsey or Suze Orman. So what makes me think that I am "good enough" to give advice on how to create a budget?? I am a woman with experience. Real life experience. I researched wealth building, budgeting and debt payoff because I had to. In my mind I had no other choice, if I wanted to stay home with my children, I had to find a way to make our household income work for us and that's what I did.
My heartfelt business building tip is to allow yourself to feel the fear, the self doubt and the anxiety of starting your own business, but do not give yourself permission to stay in that place. For every fear and doubt that you feel, write it down. Get it out of your head and onto paper. Once you do that, find at least ONE reason why you SHOULD follow through with your business and write it down. That ONE reason why you should will discount all of the reasons why you shouldn't. Trust it. Plant yourself in it, and then allow yourself to move and to grow into the next step. And then, just continue moving towards the next step.
I know, this is probably something you have seen before, but don't let this be just another time you see it. Take action and really DO it. Brainstorm. Write things down. Let this be the first step in breaking down the walls that have kept your dream captive and allow your dream to start coming to life. Do not allow the fear of failure (or any other doubt or fear) to become what keeps your passion and your vision dormant. Address it. Acknowledge it. And then, do it anyway. When you let the fear of failure become the reason why you never move - you have failed by default. Believe in yourself and in your ability to do what has been planted in your heart to do.
